At SMQ, we strive to reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainable practices in all aspects of our operations.
Transportation (Priority Order)
We prioritize environmentally friendly transport options in the following order to minimize emissions:
- Train or Other Collective Transportation – For long-distance transportation, we prefer trains or other forms of public transport that offer low carbon emissions.
- Electric Car – When public transport is not available, we use electric cars as an eco-friendly alternative.
- Ethanol Car – Ethanol cars are an alternative to traditional gasoline cars with lower emissions.
- Gasoline Car – Used only when other, more environmentally friendly options are not available.
- Airplane – Air travel should be avoided as much as possible and used only when no other transport method is feasible.
Course Arrangements
To reduce the environmental impact of travel and promote a more sustainable education model:
- Primarily Online (e.g., Teams) – We organize courses and meetings online as much as possible to reduce the need for travel and thereby our climate impact. This includes the use of digital platforms such as Teams, Zoom, and other similar tools.
Additional Measures
In addition to transportation and course arrangements, we implement the following measures to promote sustainability within our operations:
- Recycling of All Office Equipment – We ensure that all office equipment, including paper, plastic, electronics, and other materials, is correctly sorted for recycling to maximize recovery and minimize waste.
At Swedish Metrology and Quality AB, we are dedicated to integrating these principles into our daily operations and creating a work environment that is conscious of and takes responsibility for its environmental impact.
